She first launched a lighting showroom, Temple of Light, in 1992 in the World Trade Center of Cairo. In 1993, Mona established -MHDH-, an award-winning medium-sized design firm that employs 50 people and has been shaping exceptional design solutions for 33 years, with a rich history of over 600 successful projects locally and internationally.

The firm is regionally recognized for its comprehensive and individualistic design solutions for residences, offices, commercial spaces, hospitality, medical institutes, sales centers, retail spaces, exhibition booths, mockups, and yachts. These projects are a balance between cultural environments and contemporary design.

Honing her passion for design, she expanded her interior design house to include landscape design,street scape, architectural design, consultancy, product design, signage and wayfinding, branding, an interior design academy (MHIDA), and the Mahally Award competition.
